When Payback was released for the iPhone, I couldn't believe my eyes...Apex Designs had brought an excellent Grand Theft Auto clone to the iPhone/iTouch platform...I mean can you believe it, I am now able to play Grand Theft Auto on my phone. Simply Amazing...
If you're a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series or genre type of games, you owe it to yourself to check this game out. It features 11 huge 3-D environments, great HDR lighting effects (shadows, blooms, etc.), many types of vehicles, weapons and many many missions. To make it even better, it has an auto-save system, so whenever you exit the program, your progress is saved.
I tried to go over all of the heads up display and basic controls in my video, but the gameplay is so deep, that I know I missed a lot. One thing I did remember: there are a lof of factors that can affect gameplay from weather to time of the day...and by far the coolest thing about hijacking cars is the music that plays while you're in the car. If I had to say anything bad about this game, I would mention the lighting in the shady areas (which can't be helped) & the perspective (over the character) Sometimes, being so high over the character makes controlling your player hard, however it makes driving oh so rewarding...
In any case, watch my video, I hope you enjoy it....After that, go to the AppStore and buy Payback it's only $4.99...money well spent in my book.
