If you weren't already aware, Apple is set to unveil some of the features of the upcoming iPhone OS 3.0 today at a special media event scheduled for 10 a.m. PST. There have been much speculation as to what exactly is going to be shown today, but in MY opinion, much of the speculation is just speculation on the writer's part.
The only "real" features that have somehow rised to the surface are:
- Cut & Paste
- Tethering
- and MMS
I really hope that Apple has more up its sleeves for us today during this event those those three features, otherwise, a LOT of people will be walking away unhappy. I feel that this event will and can be much more. I think Apple needs to assert it's leadership once again in being innovative and show how the next SDK can be leveraged to produce next generation iPhone applications.
We'll see how Apple has always had a grand design in mind and how all the pieces fit together. I wonder if we'll see a cameo from Steve Jobs. I doubt it, but it can't hurt to wish...
In any case, I'll probably be watching Engadget or another site eagerly to see what's announced at 7 a.m. HST. Where are you getting your feed? In fact, the more I think about it, I just may follow the media event in twitter.
Have fun and catch ya after the event!
