New Features in iPhone OS 2.2 beta Revealed

While most iphone developers who have the latest iPhone beta OS are aware that Apple has made refinements to the interface of mobile safari, apparently there are features in the upcoming release that have snuck in under the radar.

Some of these examples include:

  • Turning off auto-correction
  • Inclusion of Google's street view in the Maps application
  • Inclusion of emoji support (a form of Japanese emoticon)
This editor is really happy that almost every major update has brought some kind of new functionality to my iPhone, but i'm still wondering where Push Notification Services and Cut-N-Paste is...

I know that in due time they'll be available, but I feel that once these can be addressed, they'll be one less barrier to a wider iPhone adoption.
