Podcaster Shut Down by Apple Again

It seems that Apple has prohibited all distribution of an application called Podcaster. Podcaster was an application that was slated for the AppStore however Apple rejected it on the grounds that it was very similar to the iPhone's existing iTunes iPod functionality.

Many industry observers have commented with both negative and positive sides to this story, however, I think that one has to step back in order to see the whole picture. It seems that Apple does not want any apps that require users to go to a website and pay money in order to unlock or enhance features of an application...Of course not, they want all revenues to come through the AppStore...

In any case, this particular developer is headed to the Android Platform. We wish him luck, if you'd like to read his blog, you can find it here.
