Mysterious iPhone Firmware? 5A345 vs. 5A347

P7139966.JPGNot sure what to make of this but there seems to be two different versions of the iPhone v2.0 software floating around out there.

My wife and I stood in line on Friday and both got white 16GB iPhone 3G's. This evening I decided to restore my iPhone from my backup via iTunes. I thought this might remedy the crashing I had been having when using some third-party apps I downloaded from the App Store.
Upon the restore being finished, I decided to check if there was any difference between my iPhone and my wife's iPhone. First thing I noticed was that the screen looked different. Almost as if the phone was a different color temperature. I quickly checked to make sure our brightness settings were set the same and they were.

The next thing I noticed was that she had firmware 2.0 (5A345) and my iPhone 3G had firmware 2.0 (5A347). This made me take a look at the firmware I downloaded the day before the release of the iPhone software because it sounded familiar.... sure enough, it was version 5A347! It seems like Apple has already updated the firmware but you're only gonna get it if you do a restore. The firmware from the factory is indeed 2.0 (5A345).

What changes does this firmware have aside from the color shift in the screen? Who knows! I haven't had a chance to play around with it much since I'm writing about this as soon as I discovered it! See photos below:
