AT&T Announces Free Wi-Fi

After flip-flopping and introducing this and then subsequently, pulling it back, it looks like AT&T is finally officially ready to announce their free Wi-Fi access! This is really good news for iPhone users everywhere.

At any rate, here are some quick details about the access, it will include:

More than 17,000 AT&T Wi-Fi hotspot locations nationwide

  • 12 Airports
  • 31 Hotels
  • 23 Universities
  • 18 Convention Centers
  • 5 Sports Centers 
  • 8,000 + Restaurants
  • 700 + Bookstores
  • 50 + Supermarkets

Also mentioned in AT&Ts press release is free wi-fi at US based Starbucks locations, to locate a store, use the Starbucks store locator: http://www.starbucks.com/retail/locator/default.aspx
