Happy Birthday iPod!

Ah. I can still recall the moment it happened. I saw the iPod via the web during a keynote by Steve Jobs. I hated it. I thought to myself, who in the world is gonna buy this thing? Why is Apple making an mp3 player when there are so many of them out there already?

Then I actually met one in person. Picked it up and played with it. There was something amazing about spinning that clickwheel and seeing the songs zip by and it was at that point that it hit me: this thing is going to be awesome. That shiny sliver and polycarbonite white body, with its 5 gig HD would be mine that day.

Although the iPod has gone through a lot of changes, namely the loss of firewire transfer (gosh I really, really miss that) and of course no dock included, overall things have just gotten better.

Happy birthday iPod. You're 6 years old today. My how time flies.
